The Wonder of God's Word
Text: I Samuel 3: 1-19
Intro:
God's Word is a: fire, force, foundation
In the text, there was no open vision. Everything looking to Calvary.

I. IT WAS A PRECIOUS WORD
(vs 1 "and the word of the Lord was precious in those days")

A) Because it is Divine
(infallible, inerrant, inspired, indestructable, incorruptible)It is:

1. Pre-existent word - in Creation
2. Physical word - at the birth of Jesus
3. Preiminent word - at the resurrection
4. Promising word - at the ascension
5. Preached word - at salvation

B) Because it is Direct (vs 4 "the Lord called Samuel")
came to him and called him by his name

C) Because it is Distinct(vs 6)
Samuel thought it was the voice of Eli (must have sounded familiar)

II. IT WAS A PERSONAL WORD

A) Gets you to the right place (vs 9)
reason the world cannot hear - nobody is in their place
not in home, church, or nation

B) Gets you to the right person (vs 10 "and the Lord came")
from Genesis to Revelation - slice it where you want - still flows with
crimson blood.

III. IT WAS A POWERFUL WORD

A) Brought Peace (vs15) after Samuel talked with God, he laid down
and slept all night. Settled, secure, satisfying peace of God.

B) Brought Performance (vs 19)

Conclusion: In this Word of God you will find the will of God:
His will for you to be saved
His will for you to be satisfied
His will for you to be serving
